Prague coordination chemistry group – a short description: Research of the Group of Coordination and Bioinorganic Chemistry ( http://web.natur.cuni.cz/anorchem/koordchem/en/ ) in Prague is focused on application of coordination chemistry to molecular imaging. We design and synthesize ligands those complexes are expected to have improved properties as MRI contrast agents and/or as radiopharmaceuticals. MRI contrast agents are based on complexes of paramagnetic metal ions (lanthanide or transition metal ions) with macrocyclic ligands often containing a phosphorus acid pendant arm(s). The investigated imaging methods involve 1-H and 19-F MRI, PARACEST and/or their combination with other imaging techniques as PET.
