Research interests:
My research interest is related to the development of new cement based materials with improved mechanical and transport properties. The relaxation techniques play an important role due to their unique capability of monitoring water molecules inside different pore reservoirs during the hydration process. Low field NMR Relaxometry techniques are used to investigate the influence of different admixtures (silica fume, fly ash) and additives (superplasticizers, organosilanes) on the pore size distribution and the molecule-surface interaction. The investigations refer both to the saturated and partially saturated pores. The relaxometry data are compared with the NMR diffusion data, strength test measurements and other investigations (X-ray diffraction, SEM, electric conductivity).
