My primary research interest is in the physics, methodology and applications of novel MRI technology. My group is primarily concerned with the development of fast field-cycling (FFC) MRI for bio-medical applications. FFC-MRI has the potential to reveal new biomarkers of disease, allowing early diagnosis and enhanced monitoring of response to treatment. We have designed and built two human-scale FFC-MRI scanners, operating at up to 200 mT, and we are progressing towards patient studies.
