Quantum molecular dynamics. Molecular tunnelling in quantum rotors such as CH3 and incoherent tunnelling in hydrogen bonds; mainly experimental investigations but with some theoretical. Developing new field-cycling pulse sequences to investigate molecular tunnelling. Development of field-cycling superconducting magnet systems and in-house built field-cycling NMR systems incorporating low-temperature sample environment (4K<T<300K). Some applications of field-cycling for ‘brute-force’ nuclear hyperpolarisation (in collaboration with Profs David Gadian and John Owers-Bradley).
