For my PhD dissertation, I am currently working on characterising protein and polysaccharide based hydrogel systems for controlled release applications. I have used NMR Relaxometry, T1, T2 relaxation measurements and self-diffusion coefficients to understand the water absorption, water polymer interactions, swelling behaviour of different hydrogel systems and tried relate this information with the release of bioactive agents from hydrogels.
