I am a PhD student in the programme of Medical Biophysics at the 1st Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Prague and I work as a researcher at the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine in Prague. The focus of my research is visualization of labelled cells (pancreatic islets, mesenchymal stem cells etc.) by multimodal imaging (particularly MRI and optical imaging) in small animal models. We test various contrast agents for cellular labelling with the aim of monitoring the post-transplant cell distribution and fate as e.g. CEST and 19F agents, iron oxides, nanoparticles based on other metals as Zn, Mn etc. We also examine novel drug delivery systems intended for cancer diagnosis and treatment by multimodal imaging.
